So why do brick-and-mortar universities still exist, then?

What "excuses" am I making? That some people need to be taught those skills is not an excuse. It's a fact.

Again, if you claim that having the desire to learn and having access to information online are all that it takes, you will need to prove it.

It's pretty self evident that if you have access to the information and the intent to learn it that you can learn it. I mean, colleges don't just magically implant the material into your mind. Most of it is just reading sources to you that you already had access to.

I'd say I learned 5% of my degree from the actual courses. 95% was just reading the book that was assigned with the course, and I'd say a solid 99% of that was freely available on the internet.

I'll be happy to share the sources from the CDC and individual hospital networks, but I anticipate that you'll not find them trustworthy.

Can you provide sources for your position for the US?

i provide actual numbers at this point. how about you show me the claimed death total for year 2020 and give me a link and ya lets talk about CDC data just make sure you also provide a link

you going to just believe stuff your told ??? you ever try running numbers???

COVID CRISIS???
4.46 million world wide in 20 months
records show "covid" was here as early as dec 2019
that would be two hundred twenty-three thousand per month
world population 7.9 billion
two hundred twenty-three thousand/7.9 billion
=
0.00002822784 or 0.002822784% round up to 0.003% of the populaton per month

thats your covid crisis by their numbers which have been inflated. this we know they are liars.

4million just isnt that big of a number considering 7.9 billion

they count on the people not considering the actual population

"they"?

This is false.

Personal anecdote: I have access to the information, and I have the intent to learn about computers. But it's been years, and my computer skills are still crap. So no, your claim is wrong. I would need to physically go to a school, and have someone teach me this stuff. I also need someone who I can ask questions about. People don't have this when they are learning by themselves. Also keep in mind that in university lectures there is structured learning. Another thing people don't have when they are online at home.

Another thing I need to point out: some people literally aren't smart enough to learn certain things by themselves.

So this goes back to my question. Why go to universities then? It's expensive and we have to commute. Why not just give everybody a computer and access to internet, and then tell them, "all you need now is a desire to learn! And then you will become a computer programmer/a lawyer/whatever".

I went to university because I wanted to be a doctor and you need a degree to go to medical school.

If you really want to know about computers and you have access to the internet then you don't really want to know. There are so many tutorials and discord servers where you can ask questions it's actually pretty pathetic if you are still struggling to find resources.

You are being judgmental. Just because people struggle to learn computers, it doesn't make them "pathetic". You lack empathy and you can't see beyond yourself. You are probably quite smart, but that doesn't mean other people who are incapable of academic learning are all "pathetic".

I am not judging all people who aren't academically inclined. I am judging you.

My dad is 70, went to one semester of college 50 years ago, and worked construction his whole life. You know what he is capable of doing? Going online and following tutorials.

If you don't have a learning disability then I don't think you're trying that hard.

You realize that there is the possibility that your dad could have some sort of facility for computer-related stuff, whereas I don't, right? Or maybe he had someone next to him to ask questions, for example, maybe you or your sibling helped him when he ran into problems.

I actually don't have any learning disability. And I have tried hard, but I just can't hack it. It just looks and sounds very difficult and intimidating. I really need someone next to me to guide me and help me with any questions I might have.
