The debate was always 600 vs 2000. 600 was passed so then the debate became keep the status quo or increase to 2000. The only people peddling the 600 vs. 2600 debate are bad faith actors.
Here is the direct quote: “The thing that’s going to come before the Senate again is whether or not we keep the commitment and provide the money that the House of Representatives has made of $2,000 cash payments to families.” So far, 600 of the 2000 has been delivered. In order to keep the campaign promise, they need an additional 1400. As far as I'm concerned, Biden has done his part by proposing the comprehensive bill and Congress needs to do it's damn job. Perhaps Biden should refrain from using the word "immediate" when referring to anything coming from Congress. There's absolutely nothing that can come from that branch immediately.
I wouldn't say that the left "controls" the education system but I certainly blame a lot of their policies on our failed education system.
the math is obvious yes. and again, no one campaigned on a math equation. it was quite clear where multiple (D) politicians yammering in GA about $2k checks for your vote, including the now-Senate majority leader (D), the two seated (D) GA senators, and Biden as President (D)
if i say “im gonna give you a 6 pack tomorrow in exchange for mowing my lawn today” but you end up getting get 5 beers because i gave you one months ago you’d tell me to fuck off.
either way its another awful stimulus package that i will continue to criticize as i did all last year. and yes Congress is to blame. who has all the institutional power now remind us?
