This is Trump's chance to show everybody he's not McConnel's bitch.
Show everyone how?
Is he supposed to immediately Veto the bill and face a vote to overturn the veto? Sit on the Bill for 10 days? Sign the Bill and complain "it wasn't enough"?
Which course of action is it you recommend exactly? If he vetos the bill, and the supermajority vote that the bill was passed on holds, then his veto is overturned, and he looks like an idiot and will be accused of attempting to shut down the government and prevent pandemic relief, defense funding, and a host of other items. If he sits on the bill for 10 days, then we're facing a partial government shutdown that could directly impact vaccine distribution, defense funding, and a host of other items. If he signs the bill, then then he'll be accused of funding foreign nations while businesses are closing forever all over the nation and throwing mere pennies back to the public as a consolation prize.
The entire scenario is merely a trap that will be blamed on Trump no matter the result. Attaching the covid relief bill to the 2021 appropriations bill was an incredibly clever way for both Pelosi AND McConnel to shift the blame and focus from their 8 months of inaction from themselves to Trump.
