Goomshill thinks that Trump is a media stunt double put on stage by the GOP to try and pull attention away from other candidates' negative press.

As do I.

The debate had candidates openly admit they wouldnt be in favor of abortion even to save the mother's life. There was a heap of shit rhetoric thrown around about immigration that almost no one challenged. And on top of that Cristie openly admitted he's in favor of the NSA stockpiling info on every single american Just in case.

And yet the only thing you hear about the debate is Trump. That doesnt strike you as odd? Normally the candidates have their stances put on a pedestal by any liberal media source if its too conservative, instead Trump clogs all of the media.

Anyone who voted Trump in this poll simply isn't looking at the available data: http://www.270towin.com/2016-polls/2016-general-election-matchups/

I don't think the Trump supporters in this poll are otherwise are the type of people who assign a lot of value to things like data. You also have to consider the trolling factor -- anybody who has even a slight understanding of politics is going to know that Clinton would obliterate Trump, but they might vote Trump in a meaningless poll just for entertainment.

Trumps poll numbers are looking strong :)

They're really not. He's sporting a -30 net favorability pre-attack ads. It's one of the worst ratings in their massive field, possibly the worst (it depends on Christie).

There is not a national primary. Your viability is measured by your state standing, particularly the way your supporters are distributed throughout the state in order for you to win delegates. Trump's performance in both of these metrics is poor: his place among the field is artificially inflated because the "not Trump" vote is being separated into so many other choices, and his capacity to win delegates right now is almost non-existent because he has no real infrastructure.

He at least seems to finally realize this because his "campaign" is now finally starting to hire staff in various states. It's probably not going to make a difference.

He is? I don't see anyone else regularly trailing Clinton by 12-16 points or so in those. If anyone else was they're likely the bottomfeeders polling at <1% in the primary instead of the guy polling at the top of it. It's unlikely that any Republican absent a scandal would lose 42%-58% to Clinton but it says a great deal that a guy with high name recognition is trailing by that much repeatedly. A -30 net favorability before the ads even start... unreal.

'It is refreshing to hear someone speak truth to power, to transcend Washington-speak, and cut through the staidness of our politically correct world but not when it is all blather, non-sequitur, and self-aggrandizing bombast. Donald Trump is showing he isn’t suited to lead the country, and I think we all need to discuss why. ... We don’t need a bully, and we don’t need another President who thinks he is King. '

I agree with him but you are in a democracy and voters happen to be Americans

Rand Paul is fighting a losing battle. Trump is better than him on virtually every position which is why Paul is dog shit in the polls.
