the judged dismissed the argument that such a buyer might exist out of hand. trump could have gotten 432 saudi princes into a bidding war over it and it wouldnt matter once that happens, tbh. he even rebuffed the legal team when they tried again to assert arguments over valuation. the more i read of this the more im thinking the case crumbles under appeal.
It's kind of hard to tell because a lot of the judge refusing to allow them to make certain arguments was the lawyers being really really shitty at their jobs.
Like, maybe they should have been allowed to bring in bids or other evaluations, but if they didn't do it the right way, that doesn't really matter. And from what I read they were doing basically nothing the right way and really pissing off the judge with a ton of frivilous motions.
So it may well be the case that they can't appeal it because they didn't follow the proper procedure to lay its foundation, and the judge is fine on that ruling.
