Obama was tougher with Putin in their personal interactions. But was he tougher on policy?

He drew red lines in the Syrian civil war and then backed down when Russia-ally Bashar al-Assad crossed them.
The Russian anexation of Crimea and the proxy war in eastern Ukraine took place under Obama's watch.
He was warned in time by his intelligence community about Russian attempts of cyberhacking and meddling with the 2016 election, he didnt prevent it. And now blames Trump for it.

He came real close to crashing their economy with oil sanctions until China bailed them out, but let's pretend Obama let them do everything with no retaliation.

i know the administration keeps pushing that talking point real hard lately, but it's honestly pretty lame. in reality trump tries his best to PROTECT russia: delegitimising and undermining the mueller investigation, defying congress for MONTHS after it almost unanimously decided to introduce additional sanctions against russia for their meddling, deflecting to how bad america (the country HE is officially the president of) is when pushed on putin's murdering and arresting of critical journalists and opposition... the list goes on and on. to claim he's only soft in PERSONAL interactions and tough on policy is laughable really...

trump bombed an empty airfield after warning russia. the increased sanctions happened AGAINST his will, and after defying congress for months, and you didn't even address the FACT that trump keeps protecting them (against the intelligence community, reporters, his UN ambassador, his former secretary of state, his western allies...) - it's either extremely gullible or outright dishonest to claim that trump is tough on russia. #alternative facts
