LA county with its population of almost 10 million has more murders than bumfuck missouri with its population of 20k? no shit, u serious?

of course urban counties with their higher population will have a higher absolute number of murders, and since Dems/GOP are sharply separated along the urban/rural divide, the maps coincide.

now, it is well-known that urban areas tend to have higher murder rates as well, and comparing the election result with a map of murder rates would indeed by very interesting.

Basically just overlaying two population density maps.

If it were "per 100,000" then my home town of 300, which had 3 murders a year for two years in a row, would be the brightest spot. So there's obviously more going on to obscure the real distribution.

"Every Democrat city is full of murder" because EVERY city is full of murder. That's how population density works.....

However, these charts get rid of "statistical anomalies" otherwise rural areas would be much higher, but since the murders are insanely high per capita in some years but not others it's usually chalked up to chance rather than the larger trend.
