of course urban counties with their higher population will have a higher absolute number of murders, and since Dems/GOP are sharply separated along the urban/rural divide, the maps coincide.
now, it is well-known that urban areas tend to have higher murder
rates as well, and comparing the election result with a map of murder
rates would indeed by very interesting.
