Okay , across the entire US the average income in 1984 was $22,401. The average price of a home was $82,500

In 2016 the average income $59,176 and the average price of a home is $394,600.

That is US Govt statistics.

https://www.census.gov/construction/nrs/pdf/uspricemon.pdf
https://www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/income-poverty/historical-income-households.html

Lets see if the math tutor can manage to do division.

I used your top link (pdf) for the avg. cost of a home in the US, and this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_Indexed_Monthly_Earnings Because your bottom link is all xls files. Which I can't read.

Summation...

1980 avg yearly: 12K ....avg cost of home: 75K ...is 6.25x the yearly salary

2010 avg yearly: 42K ....avg cost of home: 255K ....is 6.07x the yearly salary

So, it's actually a tad better now than it was in 1980.

You need to understand, I didn't have to look this info up. I lived through it. But I looked it up anyways.

/e As for Canada or other locations, I have no idea how it works out.

Kid, I been there done that. I know it's not whacked out like you imply. I lived through it.
IF, you were as intelligent as you think you are, you might just assume, that I have a handle on yearly salaries vs. cost of homes.

/e ...and costs of cars, and TVs, etc.

/ee yes, there are blooms and crashes, all the time, for every generation.

You have proven on almost every subject you have no handle on anything.

Its like you claiming yesterday that some how even though there is an annual cap on retirement payroll deductions you paid for yourself and 3 others. You said you understood deductions, you didn't.

The list accumulates.

Ok, I'm done responding to you. You don't have a clue, and aren't willing to accept that others might. Have a nice life. :)

/e Btw, you really are a piece of work. I don't usually give up on people as unable to learn something. Pat yourself on the back.
If you are trolling... gratz. If you're not, I feel sorry for you.

Might as well compare to 1930 while you're at it.

Might as well go to 1790, it's gonna be the same ratio, give or take a tiny bit. Market pressures keep the ratios relatively similar over time.
Like I said, there will be crashes and blooms, but it all averages out eventually.

You're beyond stupid. You have shown it multiple times. Your , I'm old so therefore that trumps everything theory doesn't quite stand up to anything.
