The broader statement is that it is stupid to rely on government to provide you everythinng because you are betting that a corrupt class of politicians dont get in and ruin it. Its wiser to have a free society where at least you can control your own life.

in a city like sidney, houses that are neither in the most poor and violent neighborhood of the entire metro area nor standing on a toxic waste dump, are going for 1m++. 800k might be a bit of a grey area, but with less than 500k, you can definitely forget about buying more than an appartment.

That's why I said earlier, that I was referring to the US when discussing millennials.

Dosent matter. Even if you spent 4 bucks a day on coffee every single day of the month that's 120 bucks less what you would spend on coffee, filters and the purchase of the coffee machine..

It's negligible. 100 bucks a month, that's dirt. I drop 150 a week on groceries alone, for one person.
