Trump's acting like a highschool kid with a brand new mustang that insists on changing 50% of it to aftermarket. He was handed a perfectly working machine, all he had to do was just drive it. Now we're rolling the dice on stuff that is guaranteed to have blowback effects, and the only credible positive course is to starve out other economies until they are ok with renegotiating entire trade deals. even believers in that model of economics realize that could take decades, by which time Trump will be out of office. so its a bad idea even to those who support it. it's like coming into a football game with a strategy that takes 3 games to implement. nonsensical.

nah it will be worse than that. they'll demonize those hitting us with tariffs.

first it will be the chinese, they'll claim they're mad we finally have someone brave enough to go after China for intellectual property theft. you know, that issue everyone can get on board with. because we are all billionaires with massive property to control.

next will be the europeons, easy targets and he can claim its because he's being hard on them for defense deals and with their immigration issues.

lastly he'll hit on Canada and Mexico. claim that Trudeau is just looking for a domestic win because he's unpopular and that mexico has not only been shipping immigrants to us, but he'll also point out how many jobs are outsourced to Mexico. (do take note that for every 10 times he mentions China as a job destination he mentions mexico once, maybe)
