harley davidson heading overseas
#winning

Shares of Harley-Davidson Inc. HOG, -1.22% sank 2.7% in premarket trade Monday, after the motorcycle maker said the European Union tariffs on the company's motorcycles increased to 31% from 6%, and will increase the cost of the average motorcycle to the EU from the U.S. by about $2,200. The company said it won't raise its suggested retail prices or wholesale prices to dealers to cover the costs of the tariffs, because it believes passing on the tariff costs would have an "immediate and lasting detrimental impact" to its business in the region. Harley-Davidson expects the tariffs to cost about $30 million to $45 million for the rest of 2018, and could cost $90 million to $100 million on an annual basis. The company said it plans to shift production of EU-bound motorcycles to international facilities from U.S. facilities to avoid the tariff burden. That plan would involve increased investment and could take at least nine to 18 months to complete. The EU tariffs, effective June 22, were imposed in response to tariffs the U.S. imposed on steel and aluminum imports from the EU. Harley-Davidson's stock had dropped 13% year to date through Friday, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.70% had gained 3%.

But anyone refusing to make a gay cake is showing character, right?

as i've said many times, the "religious motivations" argument is stupid, and a slippery slope. freedom of association is the only angle that works in reality.

otherwise we'll just end up with the church of the flying spaghetti monster making demands.

but if you idiots want to yell about how the bible made you do it into a paper bag some more feel free, it makes you look like idiots to the majority of america for no reason. if you just went with the freedom of association angle you could get the same result, avoid looking antiquated and bigoted, and get yourself a card to play in other areas. you wont tho, you enjoy the exclusivity of a religious motivation and it's a thumb up to all the people who took the "merry chirstmas" off your coffee cups.

i'd say Christians have an organized set of morals, but i've met too many Christians to think that argument holds more water than a pasta strainer. you're nearly all pretentious liars who feel a moral code with perpetual absolution is more moral than living an actual moral life. why be good when you can wipe away the sin on sunday morning, wear you coat to the communion line, and head to the car to get out before the rush.

Liberals two weeks ago: a [Christian baker] business owner must be forced to bake a cake even if it goes against their beliefs & will

Liberals today: a [restaurant] business owner must not be forced to serve someone if it goes against their beliefs & will

the hypocrisy is astounding, and luckily the times we live in bring this stuff around in such a short duration it's pretty undeniable.

Trump's tweets at Obama are nearly all critiques of his own presidency.

For christ's sake, TI is now calling for a boycott of the NFL, which was "snowflake behavior" last year when the right called for it.

I have been a member of a Methodist, Lutheran, nondenominational, and now catholic church. i attended private religious school, was in church schools Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. i completed all of the catholic pre-marriage classes and counseling. i still go to church weekly.

what exactly am i lacking in terms of perspective you dolt?
