George Will is a fierce supporter of Reaganomics and the Iraq war. In general, he stands for the Republican party of Reagan and W. Bush. I've said it before and I'll say it again: under Trump, the GOP is undergoing a big policy realignment on many fields. He's pushing the party away from the consensus of the beltway, of the political and media establishment.
On the flip side, he's gaining ground with the white working class, he's gaining ground in the midwest and perhaps he's even gaining ground with many minority voters who are tending to the conservative side of things anyway. Keep in mind: despite all the talk about rapists and crime from mexico, Trump didnt lose latino voters compared to Romney, he even performed a little better with them.
But of course losing ground with media elites is creating more headlines than making inroads with ordinary people.
