For hundreds of years dude. Really the Irish have had it pretty bad. Since long before the transatlantic slave trade.

Even up to the colonial period the Irish were seen as savages and so were not entitled to proper treatment or consideration. Only really recently have the Irish gained any ground. The troubles emancipated them somewhat but also brought new prejudices.

yeah very common in England, they were basically seen as subhuman and if you associated with them you'd be shunned or married one you'd be removed from your family

If this is the extent of your historical knowledge and debate skills, then I am not impressed

You made the claim that the Irish were richer than blacks because they didn't have affirmative action, without any data to back up that claim. Without such evidence, it is simply correlation.

The same prejudices followed them to the new world. Went there looking for freedom - got more of the same shit. Plenty of Irish slaves on plantations.

Yeah my great, great grandparents were from England. That grandmother was from a well off English family and she started dating an Irish man, she got removed from the family and they left for North America.

Lol. Cool story though. Would love to read some of their journals if they have any.

Nope. I added the second line.
Doesn't matter. If they kept journals they can be a basis for an academic paper. Other documents would corroborate or bring into question any claims made therein.
