The irish were poorer than blacks back in the late 1800's. Now, the Irish are much richer than blacks because the irish didn't benefit from affirmative action. Racism against the irish was much worse as well. Affirmative action does a lot of damage.

And at the end of the day, affirmative action is the remnant of a dying line of thinking and we will be better off when we can abolish it.

Blacks were free in the late 1800's :bonk:

And when did discrimination, violence, and systematic prevention if wealth acquisition stop?

Also, if we discriminated worse against the Irish, when did we do it and for how long ? Because I dont think the degree nor length of time was less.

Though I do agree with ending affirmative action, the amount of different ways you try to downplay the systemic, institutionalized racism against American Blacks is astounding.

You didnt have newspapers in the north printing ads against blacks. Its a very clear distinction even if it makes you feel bad about not knowing anything.

For hundreds of years dude. Really the Irish have had it pretty bad. Since long before the transatlantic slave trade.

Even up to the colonial period the Irish were seen as savages and so were not entitled to proper treatment or consideration. Only really recently have the Irish gained any ground. The troubles emancipated them somewhat but also brought new prejudices.
