conservatives in general are demanding TV news at a lower rate than liberals. so there's a smaller pool, but that pool is all compiled in Fox. Liberals, being a larger group, are spread throughout many platforms. This is due to their larger number but also the intersectional politics the left has employed for decades creating a more loosely held together group. Conservatives have rallied around Abrahamic religion and traditional family values. Liberals have rallied around a wide range of spiritual beliefs, random social issues that they cant agree on, etc. Of course this larger more diverse group has more options in their networks. But the key factor is just how god damn good Ailes was. He pulled the conservatives from the nightly news, newspapers, and NPR and milked them.
that's not even really accounting for networks that aren't hyperpartisan, of which there are a few in that 10. just none catering to the conservative crowd because there market share is so small that it's not worth trying to leech of Fox.
