well we have learned one thing..
They cannot accept a gay person into the GOP for any reason, even if he is trying to remove their enemy #1.

it shows that many people dont fit nicely within either box.

in this case the guy seems to have been a hippie nudist odd fellow, often associated with the far left, but recently the guy seems interested in theories associated with the right wing

this group of people has been growing for a while and covid multiplied their ranks 100 fold. they were first anti-vaxxers, and have existed as basically single issue people on that front for a long time. covid connected a lot of dots, and many fell right into the Jan 6th election denier camp as a result.

David DePape would be the author of two conspiratorial blogs. The articles and videos published revolve around conspiracies and hate speech against minorities, women, Jews... In his publications, David DePape was able toclaim that Covid vaccines were deadly, contest the election of Joe Biden etc.

=> The guy WAS "green" when young, but unfortunately: he sank into conspiracy theories and far right, i would not reject that he has a mental issue.

Pretty much. People nowadays want to push these type of people under the other side's umbrella to score wins and basically point the finger. It's the whole "omg look at what person X did he's part of XYZ group/ideology/etc, that's what they stand for" therefore if you're a rational, kind, caring human being you will stand diametrically opposed to them politically and ideologically. We really devolved in political discourse. It's mudslinging* raised to the power of 10 with large megaphones being social media.
