hes been a little more gun grabby lately especially with the “150 million people killed in the US by gun violence since 2007” and “AR-14s” so it makes sense he got heckled this way

Admittedly folding Beto into his campaign makes his gun stance far more complicated than his record. still there's the issue of it being a disruption to his PR event for a completely non gun related topic.

now if this was a town hall event id have far less issue with the disruption, and Biden would be far less credible with his "answer" he provided.

at the end of the day tho most of the "gun grabbing" narratives against the DNC are unfounded, they've grabbed almost literally zero guns. outside of a few local mental health driven initiatives its been all talk. im still surprised that GOP voters take their talk so seriously. gun nut hysteria is one of those things that's so out of step with reality that it doesnt lead anywhere. they should take time to focus on actual plans that have been implemented and clear SCOTUS scrutiny, which is admittedly almost none. they're just whipped into a fervor by the GOP to think the next DNC president will grab all of their guns. same thing happened under Obama and my family made a fortune off of the "this might be the last chance i get to buy an M16 clone" buyers.

The red flag laws have been direct gun grabbing initiatives. Local governments have been passing hard bans and draconian penalties like NY. I think its absolutely fair to criticize someone who folds that agenda into his campaign, even if Democrats have danced around it at the federal level thus far. Its like when Republicans crusade against Democrats trying to legalize late-term abortions. They'll dance around it at the federal level, proudly champion it at the state and local level.
If there's one concern driven more by real fears than just hysteria, the gun grabbing issue is it. The democrats have made no secret they really are coming for your guns and making serious pushes to ban guns in ways they've avoided before. And Joe Biden drafting O'Rourke should be taken as a sign he's serious. I think if he was given 4 years and congress, we'd see something resembling his stated platform today, even if it wasn't direct confiscation for everyone, it would be as much up to that point as they could muster- red flags, mandatory registration, bans on new guns, bans on arbitrary ergonomic and safety and superfluous features.

yeah lol still cracks me up

anyways im not concerned with his stance on the 2nd amendment as much as this:

https://www.axios.com/joe-biden-cabinet-vice-president-picks-b17882ac-3953-450f-8afb-38a3c8dcda57.html

Biden “plans” his (it’s being planned for him) cabinet already and his MO is to bring back basically everyone who was in the cabinet during Obama’s two terms. i swear these people never leave the swamp.

i just disagree. i think even with 4 years and congress it lingers in arguments from congressmen knowing they have to go back to a constituency that's not going to like it. so they'd talk big, then find an arbitrary reason to water it down, then blame it on the GOP. like always.

i dont even understand how they'd classify the type of weapons they want to ban, even if it was future sales. the law would have to be from a mechanical standpoint, and semi auto rifles arent going to get a ban. or if they did ban the appearance gun owners could get the same gun in a different shape that still fires semi auto. make the hysteria moot, as theyve been telling dems they're just banning something that looks scary, then to go on and demand they get the scary looking guns would be silly.

Not really surprising. He will do well in more conservative states.

I forgot to change my voter registration and didn't want to drive 3 hours one way to vote :(
