After WWII (which honestly was your war too, as you entered the ring after Pearl Harbor), there's ~100k total from 'Nam/Korea and ~7k in Iraq/Afghanistan. You vastly overestimate the sacrifices the US military makes. Fuck man, there are more civilians who violently died in just the Iraq war than US military who died after WWII. Quite the contrast.

Talk about sacrifice and better take into account how civilians suffer. I guess for the US that's a very alien feeling, as you've never been occupied/waged war against another power on your own soil.
