Why? Legal deontology aside. Let me hear your argument as to why these productive Americans should leave.

Exactly. This is the reason. It has nothing to do with honoring our commitments for boundaries as a civilization. Nothing to do with order of law at all.

DACA is unconstitutional?

uhh...

Any other shithole country you try to walk into and soak up welfare you get thrown in jail and then deported? That's right!

uhh...

Maybe you let in a bunch of third worlders whose culture is the epitome of corruption you might end up deteriorating said 'civilization'. And when that happens, do you just hit the reset button? Everyone just goes home and pretends this multicultural hell hole we've created just goes away?

I was being sarcastic. I'm very bad at it I guess.

At best, DACA was an executive policy that did defer action on these immigration cases for 5 years. At worst, DACA was an executive overreach that deferred action on these immigration cases without proper authority.

Either way, executive policies can be set, changed and eliminated by whichever executive administration is in power. Historically, immigration law is up to Congress and sending the DREAM Act (which has never been authorized by congress) back there is the proper legal route to take.

I don't really care if congress decides one way or another on the situation but this is a prime example of why executive authority is a poor substitute for proper governance by the legislature.

Anything a president does with a pen and phone can just as easily be undone with a pen and a phone.

if this "extremely small minority" can stop the legislative process, that's a damn good reason in my book.

A reason for... what? The view that that tiny bunch holds is antithetical to how the framers of our Constitution and our Founding Fathers envisioned our government working.

hhmmm, ok, thanks for recapturing those details for me. I'm not an american and back then didnt (yet) follow american politics closely.

Not a problem. Some of us are really governed by legislative history (not saying that you're not), and it plays a large role in determining how we view an issue that pops up today (but that really is just coming back around). We don't just get to pick a view as if the last 2/10/20 years of governing didn't happen.
