That makes no sense at all. The early Christians didn't suffer persecution and martyrdom to perpetuate something they didn't believe in.

How exactly would one edit scripture? Show up on a Sunday morning and preach something no one has ever heard? Then it spreads globally?

Ask the Vatican.

Really? No sense at all? Not even if you really think about the possibility of it being true?

Why would devout followers of a religion change the text? What "political" reasons could they possibly have? "The gays are asking for marriage so we're going to throw in a condemnation of homosexuality"?

If they did edit the text, please explain how the edit would spread through the entire world? You think the devout followers/leaders of the church wouldn't put an end to it?

This isn't even considering the manuscripts we have.

So you are ruling out all possibilities of any political motivation at all?

Except it's not true... The dead sea scrolls that were discovered in 1947 and were laid dormant since they were written attest that the Bible we had was unadulterated. Unless you're suggesting the catholic church got to the dead sea scrolls, changed them, placed them back, somehow changed the carbon dating so it fits a different era etc.

The Catholics did impose non biblical doctrines such as the sale of indulgences and other doctrines but have been debunked and rejected by Christianity ever since.

lol no once again you are reaching there was no "political motivation" otherwise when the dead sea scrolls were discovered the Bible that was being used would of been exposed as a lie and everyone would of knew of the falsification. Did that happen? No? So you're just pulling shit out of your ass? Oh ok.

Do you always answer questions with questions?

I don't believe any serious manipulation of scripture could have survived the scrutiny of the global church. Do you have any good reason to believe I'm wrong?

Better question actually - how come carbon dating is reliable in your eyes when used to date the Dead Sea scrolls but not to tell us the earth is more than 10k years old?
