A mob of leftists coordinated online to show up and try to stop ICE from arresting illegal aliens in worcester MA. One illegal alien was arrested, her daughter arrested while trying to stand in front of IVE vehicles holding an infant (granddaughter?). Another apparent unrelated leftist also arrested from the mob interfering with ICE

but not to be outdone

three members of congress and the mayor, all democrats, tried to forcibly push their way into an ICE facility in Newark. The mayor was arrested after repeated warnings and refusing to leave

Quote
The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

Contrast this with the case against Letitia James. In that one, the taint of political retribution and appearance of partisanship should be enough to say its in our better civic interests to let her get away even if she did defraud whatever. As hypocritical as it is for her to charge Trump with a phony crime while she did the real thing, its hypocritical for him to let his DoJ prosecute her.

But if a democrat is going to physically interfere with law enforcement or otherwise make a direct attack on the government- fuck'em, lock'em up and make an example of them. There's no narrative of political persecution if you choose to go on a crusade

Goomshill literally made the comment here about 2-weeks ago that the j6’ers were just trespassing (which he knows isn’t true), and were persecuted and made an example of by the big mean Biden administration and it was super unfair. I literally laughed out loud when I read him say if democrats are trespassing they need to be fucked up, locked up, made an example of and can’t claim persecution.

He beat irony to death with a stick, then resurrected it so he could kill it again.

And I made the comment that people who attacked law enforcement and otherwise acted violently on January 6th should indeed have been locked up and given reasonable sentences. Trump went in with a one size fits all pardon brush and set them all free, which isnt ideal but still beats giving wildly disproportionate sentences to people who did nothing but walk around peacefully.

In case you somehow can't parse that less than subtle distinction, the difference is in people who choose to act violently. The moment someone is using force against others, whether to interfere with law enforcement, break into a building, push a police line- they deserve to be locked up. Maybe even for a year. Not for the same as a murderer.

I don't see why the concept of personal responsibility is so anaethema to the left. Its twofold. Holding people responsible for their own actions. Not holding them responsible for other peoples actions. Both those get violated so hard.

No you didn’t in your comment I was referencing. You said the j6’ers were misdemeanor trespassers. It was a gas lightning blanket statement applying to all. But glad you recognize there is a difference.

The vast majority of people prosecuted for the capitol riot were just that, misdemeanor trespassers who were given wildly disproportionate sentences unrelated to their personal actions. Saying that, doesn't mean 100% of cases followed that mold. Not sure how you find this hard to understand. And those who did commit violence should have faced serious charges, and those who did not should not have.

If someone keys a tesla motivated by political radicalization, that person should face charges because they made the choice to use violence against property. If a kid goes out and shoots up a school and gets charged as an adult, their parents shouldn't automatically face charges holding them responsible for the actions of someone they can't control. That's personal responsibility.

Lol you can try and twist the subject around and distract all you want. You said what you said. Your recent comment was ironic and funny in light of that. Hence my response.
