Let me ask this....

Why is it such a concern now? Abortions have been around thousands of years... Why make it more of a problem now? If republicans were so against it they should of dealt with it years ago

you're either lying or woefully uneducated

abortion has been a crime against humanity since the dawn of civilization, only in the 20th century has it been normalized

It takes a particularly simplistic mind to find these sort of inanities powerful.

A wide majority of Americans support significant restrictions on abortion. A policy of abortion on demand is wildly unpopular with the American electorate, and for that matter most of the developed world.

when does human life begin? afaik a new human being comes into existence at conception
does anyone feel otherwise? if so please explain how you rationalize the murder of little humans

life begins at conception, but sometimes it is complicated.

1) it's better than murdering the mother in rare medical cases
2) in extremely rare circumstances (extreme poverty, violent environment, uniquely intolerable personal circumstances) murdering the baby may be the lesser of two evils

Neither does a newborn. Certainly, it would be correct to say that an adult dog or pig has more in the way of consciousness than a newborn, and therefore should be entitled to greater legal protection. But our legal system is not designed that way, nor is it designed to remove human dignity by eliminating protections for the severely mentally disabled. It's therefore true to say that your argument is neither true in theory or practice. We are obliged to disregard it.

The only consideration for my argument is that it has consciousness. The degree is secondary. We can arbitrarily say "something with human DNA with consciousness is a person with different and greater legal rights than a pig that has more consciousness". Similarly, pulling the plug on somebody with brain permanent damage is not murder.

So nothing you've said has countered my argument. It's fully in-line with our current legal standing.

Which week or month of gestation is the current medical limit for premature births to have a reasonable chance at survival (without life-long disabilities like blindness)? I would argue that that should be a common-sense upper limit on (non-medically indicated) late-term abortions.

Last I looked it was somewhere in the 20's. There's something about lung detergent that has to develop for them to have a shot at living. Modern neonatal care is pretty amazing.

thanks for providing proof that the current republican course (illegal under all circumstances) is highly unpopular (just 13%) - much more so than the other extreme (legal under all circumstances), which over a third of the population support. it's quite clearly a losing issue, but religious bigots obviously don't care about facts or popular support at all - they just want to see their fundamentalist ideas implemented, no matter who supports it and who gets hurt by it. republican taliban logic backfired, lol...

Weird conclusion from a chart that says 75% of Americans support legal abortions. The fact that abortion restriction lost on the ballot in Kansas, Kentucky and Montana would indicate this view has broad support on both sides once you get out of your extreme right wing bubble.
