Another version of my apple pie comment. Imagine Zelboy takes a delegation of his visiting European friends to an American-style roadside diner. He says to the waitress, "Give me all the apple pie you have". The waitress says, "OK, but can you afford it?" Zelboy replies, "My European friends will pay for it all. The waitress adds, "And what are your friends going to order?" "Nothing", replies Zelboy. "They can starve", he adds. The apple pies arrive slowly, but surely. And as each one arrives, Zelboy sets them on fire and burns them to a cinder. The waitress tells him he is quite literally burning his friend's money. Zelboy replies, "I don't care. What sort of a lousy diner is this? As time moves on, his friends get more and more concerned. Some start to get angry.
