This is every well off person's dream, moving the tax burden to the poor.

There would be a way to make them a little fairer: sharply increase the rates on goods consumed by the wealthiest (big cars, yachts, jewelry, etc.)... And i think there's a tax on big properties transactions in US already (Would have to check this one)
But even with these corrections, others taxes (revenue, medium business & corporate taxes...) have to be maintained.

Meaning what the Republicans are proposing is a pure HoldUP of 3/4 of americans ^_^

Thats a feature not a bug. The intent is to move the tax burden to the working class. The proposed bill would also take away estate tax as well. I would also make expensive purchases via my business and get taxed at a lower rate as well.

Florida also relies a lot on retirees moving there and bringing their money with them, money that they earned during their working years in other states. Florida is really doing well, but their model would not be sustainable for the entire country. Neither would California's, or New York's.

Retirees don't have income. Property tax and Sales tax is where Florida makes their money

They are now trying to ban a bunch of items from snap like fresh meat, baked beans and ethnic foods.

Guy works in the North East or Midwest, saves up during his peak earning years, then spends the saved up money in Florida when he's retired. So yes, the huge influx of retirees to Florida definitely comes with an influx of money that was earned elsewhere.

You keep missing my point. Maintaining a state's finances through property and sales taxes alone doesn't work unless the state has either a strong industrial base (Texas, Tennessee, Washington) or a strong influx of outside money (Florida, Nevada).
