Hello. I was reading up on CIA's blacksites where they torture people:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_black_sitesNow, I am not saying CIA also secretly tortures Americans. Although, the fact is none of us knows what they are truly up to. And the same is true about the FBI. In fact, none of these alphabet soup, federal-level agencies has transparency to any appreciable degree. And if we the people ask them questions or try to hold them accountable, they just hide behind "we cannot tell you more because this is a national security concern".
Let me ask you. If the feds hack into your computer, and assuming that you are not that good with computers, what can you do? If the feds illegally tap your phone line and monitor all you calls, what can you do? If the feds secretly follow you in real life, what can you do? If the feds that are watching you try to harass you in real life and generally make life a living hell for you, what can you do? If the feds open up a dossier on you, and they go and dig up your past, talk to anybody that you have ever known to find info on you, what can you do? If the feds send some mole to you to earn your trust and he then tries to influence you into committing a crime (known as entrapment), what can you do? It's shitty enough that they do this but what's worse is that feds operate from the shadow. They don't reveal their identity. You will know that you are being fucked with, but you have no legal recourse because you can't prove who is doing this to you. You will just get an inkling, a hunch, but the feds remain safe from legal censure and they can and will continue doing whatever they are doing to you.
I believe it's time that we start thinking about our relationship with the intelligence community. These agencies, we literally pay their livelihood. They are supposed to be working for us. But instead, they rule over us. They spy on us. They treat some of us as if they were criminals. They feel no need to explain themselves nor what they do. In fact, they see fit to hide what they do from us. They feel no moral qualms about keeping the public in the dark. And anytime we ask for any semblance of transparency, they say, "Sorry no. National security concern". And I am not saying that some of their work doesn't involve that, but this excuse is too broad, it allows them to conceal pretty much all aspects of their operations, even the ones that are morally questionable or sometimes even downright illegal. A lot of us simply assume that these agencies are working hard to protect us and our national interests. To that I will simply ask, how do you know that for sure? I bet you can't even begin to name one single federal agent. Yet you naively believe they work for our benefit. This is unbelievable in a very bad way. Another issue I want to bring up is how our tax money is being used against us. We are literally paying these feds salaries so they can keep watching us. Why do we allow this? Why do we have so little say over how our money is used?
Things need to change. Who's with me?
