College students are kids now? I find it interesting that he debates the youth of the nation instead of older people already set in their ways.

To be fair the vast majority of the population absolutely has used it in the same context for the majority of history. Yes you have some one-offs and specific cultures that may not have, but that's a rarity especially in our Western world.

and for the mass majority of people, it works to use them as the same context. I think ultimately you polarize more people to attempt to cater to some sub 1% crowd who are born one sex but align themselves with a different gender than what the mass majority of people would align them with. I don't think as a society you can cater to every single person as some special being we will always ultimately alienate some crowd but typically its some tiny minority. Should things be changed that impact large %'s of people yes, should we have to attempt to cater to some sub 0.0001% crowd that's sex was female but self aligns a two headed wolf with a dick, no.

At some point you have to drop the semantics of arguing gender and sex and just look at things from a common sense standpoint and that's you just cant cater to every single person and you have to draw that line somewhere even if some sub 1% feels alienated.

There's going to be people who want to argue to argue but I think the average person is just sitting here thinking what the fuck is going on.

If we avoided discourse because it would "polarize" the majority, then society would become stagnant--or rather, there would be efforts to try and view society as stagnant and inert. "Change is the only constant" in life though, and all who cling to a certain era of society are doomed to be left behind in the dust with it.

It's not whether things "need" or "don't need" to change. Change is inevitable after it crosses a proverbial event horizon. Just as the people who were pro-slavery were left in the dust, the people who thought women shouldn't vote, anti-gay people, etc.

The writing is on the wall where society will be heading. Resist as you may.
