You clearly don't know how this system works or who it benefits. You think paint companies are going to turn down employees they only have to pay $.13 an hour? You don't have any questions when California decides to deny paroles because they need the inmates to fight fires?

This has nothing to do with whether some companies benefit from prison inmate labor. It's about your implying earlier that people are thrown in jail for the explicit purpose of making them do work without pay. And I am telling you this is both stupid and laughable, because it costs way more to keep people in prisons than any profit we might see from the work they do. Also, you need to prove that the government of California deliberately denies paroles just so that they can have people fight fires. This is a serious allegation.

Maybe you need to think about things more thoroughly next time you decide to hop onto a soap box.

They are thrown in jail specifically to perform labour, yes. Specifically also some other things, but when you have paroles being denied to inmates who are up for it just so that the state can continue to extract labour from them, it's ipso facto true to say that they are in prison in order to do labour against their will.

You need to prove this is indeed the intent.

Why? So you can change your mind and become a prison abolitionist, fighting for the rights of America's young black men?
