I don't care too much either way. As long as the policies are solid and we can return to some kind of pre woke days and prices of gas and food normalise then we can all agree.

Trump just has charisma and entertainment levels that Desantis will never reach.

There's something to be said about local control. If California wants to run some nutty schools, so be it. Laboratories of democracy and such.

And we're a country of dopes so these things matter more than policy, character, and competence.

That's what the position boils down to. Even the ability to speak coherently is not a requirement these days it seems. The president is a mouth piece a glorified teleprompter reader at this point 99% of the thinking is done by the senate and the party.

I think that's a weird position to take when Biden's Build Back Better bill got destroyed by Manchin, and Trump was anything but a mouthpiece for the party policy machine. He got the rich tax cuts bill passed and shat on everything else, even fumbling the repeal of Obamacare and the passing of an infrastructure bill.

Presidents who appear to be competent about policy are the ones who care about policy. The lack of chaos is not evidence of "being a mouthpiece for the man", it's just competence and policy success.
