All automatic weapons are illegal with very few exceptions. They have to be manufactured before a certain date and/or require special permits reserved for police and military members. You can totally purchase a Soviet era AK that is automatic, but they are very expensive.

Nothing wrong with use for hunting. But if you feel you have to carry one for self protection in your country, I've got news for you. It means your country is a total shit hole or you live in a constant state of paranoia.

It’s not silly at all.
I’ve bought 2 in the past few years and yes the reason I bought them is to protect myself and my family.

If you don’t think you need a firearm for personal protection in America, then you’re not paying attention.
