They could have literally grabbed some chairs and worked with this guy. Everything pointed to a mental health issue. There was no threat to anyone.

There is no reason that the choices are do what you're told or die.

The cops didn't have to RISK anything. The dude was locked inside his car.

the alternative is what exactly? stand around all night and risk that a lunatic starts that car and hurts someone?

inb4 they have to stop him from doing that somehow by destroying the tires or so, sure, they can also drive to KFC and buy him some chicken and coffee for the trouble

You should really go back and find out the real story on these. I know you don’t post here a lot and basically like to troll the right but you have been severely mislead on many issues.
