Russia hasn't mobilized the majority of their armed forces. That may be ending, since a lot of apoplectic Russians are blaming the one-hand-tied-behind-their-back nature of this Russian strategy for Ukraine's recent advances.

Ukraine triumphalists don't seem to get that Russia has been very reserved, so far. No strategic bombing, no attacks on political structures, no bombing of core infrastructure (power plants, sewage plants, water pumps, etc). They have a lot of room to adjust their commitments in Ukraine, that's just a fact.

the government provides services for your taxes, sometimes alot, sometimes very little, depending how moral the government is. Right now we pay alot of taxes for very little services (North America)

by my unbias perception, that is applicable to most people. it's a sociological observation of how a culture(s) work, unfortunately.

that is true

right of conquest is just a fundamental part of natural law, the ruling administration collects taxes which is no different than tribute from freshly conquered territory

Pretty sure they will get nuked if the gains are big. I don't think that Russia can win with the current amount of infantry they are using. So it's just a question of when the first tactical nuke will get used

There won't be a nuclear exchange. Russia has a no-first-use policy, and I think (hope) the US isn't so dumb as to give the Ukrainians any.
