1. Somebody died. They charged him with murder he will stand trial and make the case for self defense pretty normal.

Nothing else directly, we mostly agree and I won't quibble enough to carry on.
Semi-related statement, however, is that there are only two Constitutionally validated causes to imprison a person prior to due process: They are a flight risk, or they are a continued immediate risk to society.
