It sounds like it would put the issue back to the states. Blue states would likely keep their current laws. Red states would all but criminalize the act in the following months. And as often argued, this just affects the poor. Those of means can, and will, travel to get the procedure done.

This bassically means red states can make the women suffer the lifelong consequenses of rape while exonerating the rapist as a god fearing citizen. Leading to red states having to leech oof blue state's social program money even more if that was even possible.

the whole "just give it up for abortion" bs not only ignores the significant issues with adoption and foster care systems, but also the nine months leading up to birth. not that even if we were willing to let women deal with all that (easy to do as a man), the fundamental issue of bodily autonomy would be addressed, let alone settled.

we agree that abortions aren't good, but unlike you, i realise that laws don't prevent them, that restricting women's rights won't lead to the desired outcomes. my solution is to stop the moral crusade and pearl clutching, eliminate the economic pressure, educate young people, provide affordable health care - the american way is to ignore all that and simply restrict women's rights. don't be american.
