why people are invested in saying he isn't smart is beyond me. he's smarter than anyone in PARD i'd wager, since our resident ivy leaguer Jeb left.

I don't think anyone argues his potential, but rather his current application of his intelligence.

he's imo in the top 1-2% of IQ. he's a fantastic classic debater, who's also able to handle himself in more nasty debates. he's horribly biased towards Israel and that's by far his biggest intellectual issue, but it can be rectified by just saying religious morality supersedes superficial morality. not a point i agree with, but not entirely unintellectual either.

there's a lot of right winged grifters out there, Ben is far and away the best by a wide margin. he could have ousted Hannity and Tucker with ease if he wanted to go to fox news from breitbart, instead he made his own network and likely makes more that way without as much ad revenue control over his content.

His need for attention is his biggest intellectual issue to be fair.

His second one is his inability to handle criticism like an intelligent person. I mean he even broke off his speech to throw some comebacks at a heckler like a stand up comedian.

I mean honestly name one good reason he's speaking about that subject outside of attention seeking and being called girly a lot of his life.

Heckling is not real criticism though, I don't see why he has to handle it in an intelligent manner. Put the heckler in his place.

character defects arent a 1:1 ratio with intellect.

someone could be a heroin addict and a genius.

someone could be an asshole and a genius. they could even have a high enough EQ to know the way they act makes dealing with others harder, and have done a cost/benifit analysis to the point they dont care.
