True, and I am not saying to doubt every single person you will ever meet. That would be a sad way to live. I say you should be slightly doubtful until you have interacted with someone for a reasonable period of time and you have determined that he/she is trustworthy. Only then do you trust them. And for entities like TV executives, politicians..etc, people you have no way of knowing personally and therefore no way of knowing if they are trustworthy, you should always be on guard. This isn't unreasonable. In fact it's very healthy.
