is it possible to verify 100%? not for the average joe.

can u estimate based on the sample size of your immediate area? yes.

i dont care if the news is 10k off, as long as we're talking about 190k and 200k deaths for example.

Yeah but you're using covid as an example, where the numbers they're saying relate to what i saw in real life. as compared to swine flu there they were clearly off.

Please read my OP again. I clearly stated I am not saying they are lying. I said, they could be lying.

God I can't believe the number of people in this thread who got so offended by what I said.

Nearly all facets of life people "could" be lying.
Thanks for all your insight

Has anyone actually verified that OP is a real person? I've never been in the same room as them so my default position is that they don't exist.

True, and I am not saying to doubt every single person you will ever meet. That would be a sad way to live. I say you should be slightly doubtful until you have interacted with someone for a reasonable period of time and you have determined that he/she is trustworthy. Only then do you trust them. And for entities like TV executives, politicians..etc, people you have no way of knowing personally and therefore no way of knowing if they are trustworthy, you should always be on guard. This isn't unreasonable. In fact it's very healthy.

Maybe you should state your opposition to my post in a straightforward manner.

your post was about trusting news information with COVID as an example.
looks like the goalpost is moving to everyday interactions and trusting people. FYI you don't know any news casters

I just am doubtful that you even exist, I have no way of verifying it so must take you with a grain of salt. I don't know if your positions are even legitimate because I have no way of verifying them. You could be lying about everything you type so it's best to assume it's wrong unless I can be in the same room as you while you log in. Even then do I even know it's OP and not someone who scraped their PW off of a keylogger? Best to just be safe and be skeptical of you entirely.

See how productive your position is?

I don't really care if you think I am moving goal post or anything. I will talk about anything that I think is worthy of being talked about.

Also, I see that you have no response to what I said.

I in fact do think my position is very productive and sound. You just got offended because you trust big governments and the TV. In fact you are the kind of sheeple I was talking about in my OP. Anytime someone who has ideas that are different from what you see on TV, you feel that you have the obligation to shoot them down. You also believe stuff that you have no way of verifying. Haha.
