when you hear coyotes howling at night they're taking roll call. if one or more is missing from the pack it signals a response in the females to release more eggs and instead of a litter of 2-3 pups they will have 4-6 pups as a way to repopulate the pack.

i shoot coyotes any chance i get, but what i said is scientific fact. and other than rats coyotes are the only mammal that lives in every city in america, including hawaii. while they're a bother they're also incredibly well adapted animals worthy of as much wonder as scorn.

i read Coyote America, a book on the history of coyotes.

also if we kill them all we'll just end up with an issue with overpopulation of mice, rats, deer, and many other animals in america that coyotes are one of the only natural predators remaining to cull them. after we killed off bear populations, mountain lions only being native to maybe 1/10th the number of states they once were, and wolves being almost nonexistent in most states.

its shortsightedness like yours that leads to ecological disasters and issues that we can no longer contain. people like you are responsible for axis deer in hawaii, feral cats in Australia, and rats worldwide. try to be a chess player capable of thinking 2 moves deep even if you'll never get to 4.
