Now apply that same argument to communism.
I'm not advocating for communism, but it's pretty cringe when people downplay the atrocities of capitalism as "just what humans have always done" and then drum up the atrocites of communism as "uniquely communistic".
Corruption, extermination of enemies both internal and external, mismanagement, etc. has all happened for all of human history.
"but the scale is larger" yeah, American capitalistic hegemon is the largest scale destruction in world history. What of it?
I see your point. Maybe they tried to apply this utopian communist model that was doomed to fail and they knew it. Marx and his kin were not retarted completely so I would assume they asked questions what if it backfires or what happens when humans cave to their lower vices. Maybe the inner beast cannot be contained within man or at least takes a long time to be tamed and civilized. Our laws reflect that it all about you can't do that this or the other, painting man as a naughty child that cannot be trusted and must be kept on a leash any time some new way of doing things comes about. In order to keep the people out of mischief which is default assumption.
Capitalism isn't a perfect system it just the best representation of "earning your keep" that we have on this planet. It works great when the intention is good. For example Elon paving way for evs, batteries, space travel etc. There is no cap on wealth generation which is probably what corrupts most humans. There are other elements which are at play such as fractional reserve and debt based monetary system in place which by default creates ever increasing headaches of trying to balance wages and products.
You cannot deny that capitalism in its pure good intentions has propelled human expansion and development like nothing on the planet before it.
Communism is a step backwards in every way and when the experiment fails repeatedly over and over with over 100,000,000 subjects dead as a result you have to move on to something else as a scientist.
Capitalism is constantly morphing and adapting it needs tweaks and adjustments along the way.
