Showing as the very first part of the video shows somebody telling Congress how dangerous it is, clearly advocating for some sort of regulation, there is absolutely blame on the government on some level. Oliver also says one major part of the problem is that they were allowed to regulate themselves essentially and there was no follow through.

And by that logic anything that has had a negative outcome can be blamed on the manufacturer and not on regulation failures, nullifying many of your positions on various topics.

Though I can vividly remember you saying, “yes I can have it both ways” a few days ago, so I must concede your power of being able to hold multiple positions as long as you sound like you have a point.

Dude, you can blame both. Sometime around middle school you were supposed to drop this all or nothing thought process. You can blame the company for making a shitty product and you can blame regulators for being insufficient. Those things aren't contradictory.

When the title of the topic is capitalism poisons everybody, and it actually boils down to a manufacturer and Congress ignored unsafe chemicals in the product, how am I not supposed to call bullshit…

But yeah I have the intellect of a 12 year old I guess. Although you are the one saying exactly what I said from the beginning like it is your idea and you have to explain it to me. You are the definition of phony bro.

You are such a phony I don’t have time for your childish internet bullshit today. Fucking clown.

Guy has to straight up lie about a conversation on a thread that isn’t even multiple pages yet, just to give himself the satisfaction of speaking to me like my 11 year old does in a COD lobby in his bedroom.

Dude, if regulation is required, how can you say that isn't a market failure? By that logic literally nothing would be a market failure.

The government passed a set of laws in the early 1900’s that made it nearly impossible to sue a corporation.

And even then, the business owners are usually shielded from jailtime.

The meaning of free market is to get as close as possible to a fair and consensual transaction. Transacting in health care is impossible because the commodities involved are too complicated to be understood before the transaction takes place. I dont think there is any easy solution there other than forcing their legal team to get an exorcism.

Not to mention that is one of the weakest arguments I have seen on this sub. Just because something needs to be regulated, it was a failure. Come on

A corporation knew about the harmful effects of its products 50 years ago and did not disclose this information to the public because it could hurt their profits and you blame the govt for not stopping said corporation and are incapable of assigning any blame whatsoever to the corporation.

Are you a libertarian?

*corruption
Fixed that for ya.
And yes, the powerful are currently playing toy with society and it’s extremely dangerous. Governments are not reknowned for releasing power they grab.

Pro-failed-vax is stupid.
Pro-big-government is deadly.
Anti-American is commie.
Capitalism is perfect for the time being, corruption defiles everything.

Remember, you’ve never been hired by a poor person, and you’ve never wished for less money.
