The official Christian churches being a bastion of right-wing politics is an ideological aberration which is still strong in the United States. In Western Europe, the mainline churches have basically gone fully woke. In Latin America, they still cling to their stance on abortion and sexual morals, but have otherwise also moved in a woke direction. And churches in Latin America have tended to favor left-wing economic politics since basically forever.
