I would complain about the environmental concerns of using energy in this way,,, if I cared.

I really couldn't care less about the environmental issues. We are almost certainly well past the point that global warming is going to absolutely run away and we've done nothing about it. My mining isn't going to do anything. We could cut all of our energy uses by 50% and it probably still wouldn't help.

We had our chance, and we let oil companies buy off our politicians and prevent them from allowing investment in renewable alternatives.

We haven't been in a scenario where we can doubt it's happening for over twenty years now.

It's been incredibly apparent that it was happening ever since the 70s when oil companies started taking it into account to plan shipping routes. The scary thing is the oil company simulations that we recently got access to that we're done in the seventies were incredibly accurate. They knew exactly what was going to happen and kept it a secret.

Carrying no debt - which I can argue can be a negative.
Large cash & taxable marketable security position - the market can fall 50% and I'll have enough liquidity to continue my current lifestyle for several years without income.
Recession-Proof job - everyone on my current team/department (all in their 50s) has been employed continuously since the early 1990s; various corporations but same function.

Even with its hype, I would find it difficult to put more than 5% into crypto given its young nature with no history as a commodity.

The IRS also seems to get hard hunting people down for capital gains violations with crypto. (John McAfee)

No way, dude. BigBoobsCoin is going to +2,000% this year and you can't stop me.

crypto tanking like normal. Some 3rd world country banned bitcoin.

Not long tell China demands all countries they do business with to ban as well.

Idk I thought the point of crypto was to pay for illegal activities or hide payments of money from the government? But didn't they find some way to tax it? hmm
