I've had it. It was a cold, mate. 20% of all strains of the "common cold" are coronaviruses.

For the overwhelming majority who contract covid, it is literally just a cold. The fact that you disregard the overwhelming majority (nearly 200 million) of the cases where it's either a cold, or there are no symptoms at all, and harp only on the cases where there are severe symptoms honestly make it pretty difficult to take you seriously.

That said, I don't care what you do, but since you feel so strongly, I do hope you've gotten your vaccine. Wouldn't want to be a hypocrite now, would you?

I didn't get vaccinated, because even though I never spent a day in medical school, and I wasn't entirely sure what an epidemiologist was before COVID hit, I did my own research, and these articles and videos produced by people outside of the field of epidemiology were more credible than the opinions of all the top experts in the world.

That it came from a lab? Was some horrible plot? Something along those lines? Don't really care. The last thing I'd expect China to do is inflict it's own population with the virus intentionally. If it "escaped" a lab, well... Accidents happen.

China's actions in preventing US companies such as 3M from shipping PPE that used US wealth and investment to manufacture, and claiming it all for "The People of China" then turning around and selling it to Europe at artificially inflated prices was pretty shoddy, but not unexpected.

There's a lot to be concerned about regarding China both economically and militarily. I don't really believe Covid is on that list. In some ways, Covid has been great in exposing just how deeply the WHO is entrenched in Chinese interests. So it's kind of nice knowing who not to trust.

Not particularly nervous about covid or the vaccine, either one, tbh.

At this point, what makes me nervous is what all the lockdowns have done to global logistics, and the impact it's already having on food supplies, especially in the third world. Estimates I see indicate tens of millions have starved to death, with some hundred million or more entering the dangerously malnutritioned category.

I don't necessarily believe any of that was particularly intentional, I think both the scientific advisors and government officials all across the world simply lacked the basic knowledge or awareness of just how wide-ranging the impact of shutting down so much of society was. Instead they focused on the dangers the virus represented to the elderly and infirm, and honestly believed quarantining the healthy to protect the sick would work. In some ways, it's too bad they were wrong.
