i'm lucky that my kids 'gay uncles' she grew up with, don't take her to these pride events and certainly don't think their personal sexual choices should be belted out like a laser cannon into the faces of children

plenty of more conservative gay types out there (maybe you've met one here) - who don't feel a need to whip our dong in a circle on a float - or celebrate those who do. it's a personal private lifestyle choice. I understand we were oppressed forever in so many ways. but I fought for my right to have a private life. not to blast my dong at children in public

But that's not what this is (obviously murder is far worse but I don't think that's part of the discussion). I'd argue that exposing orders of magnitude more children to deviant acts has a greater aggregate harm than the occasional abuse scandal. Even when it comes to an individual, I'm not convinced that an unhealthy relationship is worse than seeing deviant acts around you all the time.

Personally, I would never take my child to a pride parade because it could only harm his upbringing.
