People try to cancel people for all sorts of stuff they did decades ago

I personally believe it's idiotic to cancel people for actions done 5+ years ago - if they have made large strides in self improvement then it should be taken into account before maligning said people.

Can you show what hes done to improve his beliefs and image? His policies seem to be even more blatantly racist than they were before.

I wanted to give you an out, because if it was Biden then your whole comment train is really dumb.

Biden definitely has racist tendencies from growing up in the time he did, but he's clearly made an active attempt to stop and distance himself from his old ways. He still slips up, I mean, he's old and spent his formative years in pre-civil rights america.

I find that subtle racism, the racism of soft expectations, is worse than blatant racism. At least if you call somebody an outright racial slur you know where they stand.

"Black people dont know how to get an ID"
"Black people dont have access to the internet"
"Black people cant navigate through certain government processes like white people can"

So, choosing a black VP isn't redeeming, because its just virtue signaling, because it was popular.

but making a crime bill is racist, even tho it was wildly popular, and likely virtue signaling too.

i agree.

regardless of if they can or cant, stats show they dont. its really that simple. trying to fix it isnt racist just because u dont like the messaging.

When we are talking about the president, then blatant racist would be several orders of magnitude worse than soft racism. He's clearly using black as a substitute for poverty there, which is racist, but not something that even comes close to the blatant racism and racist policies that are actively pushed by Republicans.

So I just disagree, and I think the opinion is really dumb and mostly a result of your gobbling up right wing propaganda instead of actively thinking through your position.
