They exist but they think they can get away paying minimum wage. Once you commit to automation, you can't really go back.

Fuck them. They have been ripping off their workers and using the state to subsidize their wages through welfare for too long.

If you can't pay employees you have no business. You aren't entitled to entrepreneurship.

What if they are actually paying them what their labor and expectations are worth though?

I just dont agree with the mindset that jobs shouldnt exist if they dont provide people with a certain lifestyle since that is kind of subjective and no person should be able to dictate that to another person.

Also: do you actually think automated burger reheating devices dont exist or what did you mean?

Why would someone eat fastfood versus cooking their own healthy food tho? Don't people care bout their health which is the number one priority everyone should have? Bad health = bad day to day life...

No it isn't subjective at all. Minimum wage was designed to create a minimum standard of living to protect the health and well-being of employees. You make it sound like these businesses can't afford to pay their employees the minimum standard lol.

They might not be able to if you raise it to $15 though, i thought thats what we were discussing?

And it is subjective in that some bureaucrat has to determine the set minimum. It being designed for something also doesnt necessarily guarantee it accomplishes its goal, especially considering unintended consequences.

if we all come to a consensus on what is the lowest livable amount of money we can pay someone for doing any job, wouldn't you say that solves any issues that deal with exploitation of labor?

edit: well maybe not any, but a good amount of cases

Sorry to nitpick, but that would still be subjective

I think there are far better ways of dealing with exploitation of labor since i tend to lean libertarian. But in short i think your way sounds a lot simpler and better than it would work out. Jobs are worth what they are worth and using force to try and change that fact seems like poor form.

FF places can gives those raises and it will not hurt them. It can be in the model. What FF place can exist without burger flippers?

They made fun of them, the flippers, but they are the most important people there.

If you take your reasoning to its logical conclusions then we would have no min wage at all, which is pretty much a nonstarter with most civilized peeps.

I don't buy it typically. If you eat it then you can pay, and smoke your cigs or whatever.

The $15/hour is, I think, a bit the result of political marketing that isn't always grounded in practical reality. So much of the political landscape is reduced to simple binaries that demarcate what "side you're on", and the $15/hour has become one such example. Realistically, I think anyone working full-time should be earning a living wage, but that will vary across jurisdictions due to the relative cost of living.
