The boats never stopped the government banned all reporting of them and boat arrivals were a drop in the bucket of illegal arrivals. That tamil family has been in detention for SIX years now.
There is two little girls growing up in a prison.

It was never illegal to seek asylum in Australia as we signed the UN refugee charter.

Which probably means they've refused to go back for 6 years and country of origin doesn't cooperate which means they can't be deported.

Seeking asylum =/= living in Australia illegally. It means registering as an asylum seeker on arrival. Should get your facts strait dude but I get it, you're so woke it's impossible for you to understand this.

The reality is they came to Australia illegally by boat. Seeking asylum after that fact is not an option and you know it. Having kids while on a temporary visa means those kids aren't Australian citizens from what I've read. They then started a legal battle which has cost your country over $200K.
