Vendors and manufacturers don't have an incentive to figure it out. Mainly seeing store fronts try to solve it with pickup in person strategies, which mainly helps their company brand align with hoomams over e-commerce bots. If scalped inventory slows adoption, then that might move some tech giants with digital sales loss to action, probably not though.
I think companies like NVIDIA or AMD do have an image preservation issue though. I agree that someone like TSM who makes these for them don't have much of an issue but it's not good business practice for those first mentioned companies to ignore consumer concerns. A response like 'oh well that's tough not our problem' is bad PR.
That's probably why NVIDIA is doing things to prevent their video cards from being used for crypto.
