Where it matters in life, aka the real world, my intelligence, my skills, and so on have been validated both through academics and professionally so some random I continually disagree on the internet calling me dumb is the equivalent of some kid raging in a call of duty match.

When somebody comes on with more knowledge, your first instict is that they must be wrong. We've seen it literally dozens of times.

We got a resume for a post-doc this week. The guy studies nephrology and metabolic changes in kidney cancer. I've been open about how the models taught in medical school that describe the kidney are garbage. Like, break basic thermodynamics garbage. You know what I said when we got that resume? It wasn't "This guys Ph.D is garbage because it's not real science". It was "I'd love to hire this guy so I can talk to him about how the kidneys really work and how the models I were taught break down".

That is a response that you would absolutely never give. You've made that clear from many years posting here. And it's something that will hold you back. You might get to a certain level of professional success, but you won't go as far as you can possibly go with your current mindset.

I don't even use excel for work. I work client-facing. Most of my work is explaining complex things to people that don't specialize in what I do.

The comment was made in jest. It was a throwaway comment snidely making fun of the perspective that black people have negative interactions with cops because of racism. It was made in jest because we obviously see a cop here being agro with a white woman so it pokes fun at the racist cops narrative.
