"Cops are trained" is a pretty shitty excuse when "cops needs different training" is the prevailing narrative of the cj reform movement.

"cops need to learn to deescalate better"

"cops need to use non-lethals more"

are both common calls from reformers, and both relevant to a case of suicide by cop. many times cops dont even have a signal its a suicide by cop, this guy made it clear as day.

You haven't done anything to prove why that cop should have shot that person.

The cop should have had his gun raised, and was within a half a second of dying. He had the entire right.

pepper spray, tazer, talking to him, shooting him in the leg.

but feel free to think zero seconds and just post "but but but they're trained to......"

Tazers are not reliable, but pepper spray sounds like it would have worked here.

The leg has the femoral artery btw. You'd die in less than three minutes.
