but my dude, AOC and her gang are literally leading an EAT THE RICH political movement set on taking down billionaires and corporations.
AOC's congressional salary is $174,000/year. Everyone who currently earns $158,002 or more is a top 10% earner. Add to that the fact that AOC's earnings come primarily out of the paychecks of the tax payer, not only is she part of the richest class, her means of earning rely on taking the fruits of other people's labor.
The shift from "millionaires" to "billionaires" only became a "thing" because Bernie Sanders' earnings rose to over a million annually, which puts him in the top 1% of earners, and not too far away from the $2.8m/year range of top 0.1% of earners.
Not all corporations are bad, not all billionaires should not be billionaires. Simply saying, "These people and entities are evil, thus we need to tear them down" is incredibly destructive, and would ruin the livelihoods of millions of Americans. According to the WSJ, based on Census data, approximately 36.2% of working Americans work for Corporations that employ 2500+ employees. Pay scales ranging anywhere from minimum wage all the way up to tens of millions. If we "take down the corporation" what exactly are that 36.2% of the workforce supposed to do for livelihoods? How do we replace the lost goods and services?
Anyhow, seems 2020 was one of the worst years in recent history for police:
