I think a fair social media where it's possible to publish external links without visibility penalty and where privacy & safety can be protected will end up to emerge.

also Facebook has added a "login through facebook" function to a shit load of apps and websites, similar to Google sign in, so its got a lot of users hooked even if it doesnt keep them posting. plus marketplace has taken a massive share of craigslist business. its honestly huge and i dont think going anywhere for a while, especially as it owns Instagram.

Lol, the time is ripe to challenge them. They used to have a great MVP, now it's a clusterfuck of rand features, bots, spam ads. Theyve lost a vast market share of users they once had. That being said, they will be a big player for many years, but year over year the 'digitalnnative' segment grows, and those people have a much easier time hoping off platforms they don't like.
